Ludo studied classical languages and Egyptian history at the University of Leiden. He became lecturer in Egyptian, Greek & Latin. He was the author of several books amongst which: “The Temple Complex of Medinet Haboe (ca. 1942), “Indexes of Bibliotheca Aegyptica VIII” (1943) & “Echnaton” in 1946 dealing with Egyptian religion and Achnaton, king of Egypt, between 1372 and ca. 1354 BC.
He was singularly introvert and exclusively absorbed in his area of expertise. His forebears were never mentioned in his family life.
